About me

After living in my tent trailer for most of 2016, I fell head over heals for tiny living. Everything, every little thing had a purpose and a place. I discovered that if my space, just like my head, is organized and clean it is a much more inhabitable place. I filled my space (and head) up with things I actually used and took pride in, and now I feel this new borderline OCD has really helped shape me into a pretty solid adult!

Tan Van will be the biggest challenge of my life so far, because I know next to nothing about anything to do with building a house. But I'm confident because I am truly a designer and a builder at heart. As far back as I can remember, I have put my imagination to the test and been able to figure out how to build/scheme/cook/write/sell things on my own. Sometimes it's not the easiest way, but it's my  way. My dad is a mechanic and my mom is a crafter of a million mediums, both entrepreneurs, so it's definitely in my blood. I dropped out of university after 3 years of a Bio-Psyc degree and taught myself how to work with leather, and now I have my very own super fun and successful business slingin' hand made leather goods across Western Canada. The only missing puzzle piece is my own home and a permanent studio. Now with this gigantic bus, I will have my home/studio with me all the time so I can produce more consistently and grow my business into the next chapter.

Along with the obvious reasons for wanting a tiny life - environmental, economical, self-sustainability, mobility - I also want to set myself up right for the apocalypse. Yes, I dream of one day surviving an apocalypse. Whatever kind of apocalypse it might be, I'll be ready.
